Sue Huddleston Taylor, age 74, of South Knoxville, went home to be with her Savior on Sunday June 11, 2017. Born and raised in Harriman, Tennessee, Sue was a graduate of Harriman High and a graduate of Carson Newman University, class of 1965 with a BS in education. Sue taught elementary school for 30 years, 26 of those years at Bonny Kate Elementary. She retired from teaching in 1998. Sue was a long time member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she loved to sing in the choir, was a former Acteen Leader and president...

Sue Huddleston Taylor, age 74, of South Knoxville, went home to be with her Savior on Sunday June 11, 2017. Born and raised in Harriman, Tennessee, Sue was a graduate of Harriman High and a graduate of Carson Newman University, class of 1965 with a BS in education. Sue taught elementary school for 30 years, 26 of those years at Bonny Kate Elementary. She retired from teaching in 1998. Sue was a long time member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she loved to sing in the choir, was a former Acteen Leader and president of the Keenagers Senior Adult Ministry. She was also a member of the Berean Sunday School class. Sue was an avid reader, loved Lady Vols Basketball and loved taking vacations to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She was known for her love of daisy flowers and her beautiful smile. More than anything, Sue was known for her love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She is preceeded in death by her parents, Wayne and Georgia Huddleston; and sister, Wanda Dalton. Survivors include her loving husband of 51 years, Jack W. Taylor; daughters and sons-in-law, Emily Taylor Groves and Kelly Groves, Jacquelyn Taylor Goforth and Scott Goforth; grandsons, Benjamin Goforth and Remington Groves; brother and sister- in- law, John and Joanne Huddleston; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Bill Brooks; sister-in-law, Becky Taylor Haile; brother in-law, Jim Dalton and her life long special friend, Marlene Boney. Family will receive friends 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Thursday June 15, 2017 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 2500 Old Maryville Pike, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 7:00pm. Dr. Carroll Golden officiating. Family and friends will meet Friday, June 16, 2017 at Mt. Olive Cemetery for an 11:00am interment service.
