Elizabeth Jeanne King Cunningham, age 92, of Knoxville, passed away Monday evening, September 4, 2017. A music graduate of Shorter College in 1946, Jeanne had a lifelong career in the music field. A piano and organ teacher for over 50 years, she taught hundreds of children, spanning multiple generations. She also served as the organist at South Knoxville Baptist Church for 56 years. Elizabeth Jeanne King Cunningham, age 92, of Knoxville, passed away Monday evening, September 4, 2017. A music graduate of Shorter College in 1946, Jeanne had a lifelong career in the music field. A piano and organ teacher for over 50 years, she taught hundreds of children, spanning multiple generations. She also served as the organist at South Knoxville Baptist Church for 56 years. She was a devoted and faithful member of the church since 1956. Most of all, Jeanne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, O.C. (Jack) Cunningham; parents, E.D. King and Elizabeth Gray Marshall King. Survivors include daughter, Carol Elizabeth Jordan; son, John Harold Cunningham; grandchildren, Davey Jordan (Monica), Andrew Jordan (Kim), Blake Cunningham (Jenny), and Lauren Rivera, great-grandsons, Declan Cunningham and Logan Cunningham; great-granddaughter, Kennedy Rivera. Family will receive friends Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm at South Knoxville Baptist Church with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm. Dr. Glenn Sullivan and Rev. Kirk Werner officiating. Following the service, family and friends will proceed to Woodlawn Cemetery in procession for the interment service.
